About our Founder 

ShaQuita C. Gatewood is a wife, mother, teacher, writer, public speaker, community leader, mentor and the founder of I Am Chosen Ministries. She has dedicated her life to helping others reach their fullest potential. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee State University in Elementary Education, and a  Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently earning a Doctorate Degree in Organizational Leadership at Beulah Heights University. 
 

Throughout her career, she has taught in elementary schools, served as a Principal in a private school, Christian Academy, and most recently she founded and serves as the president for I Am Chosen, Inc., a mentoring organization for middle school girls. More recently, I Am Chosen, Incorporated relaunched under I Am Chosen Ministries.  While ShaQuita has a passion for helping adolescent girls navigate through the developmental years of adolescence. ShaQuita has accepted the call from God to launch I Am Chosen Ministries, which will continue to impart the lives of adolescent girls along with helping women fulfill their God given purpose in life.  ShaQuita’s purpose in life is to serve as a “bridge builder” in the lives of women and young ladies. It is her goal to help women and young ladies reach their God-given potential along with equipping them with the necessary tools and resources in order to help them overcome life challenges.

 

During her spare time ShaQuita enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Kendrick Gatewood and their two children, Madison and Kaleb. She also volunteers throughout the community and within her local church at World Changers Church Norcross.   ShaQuita embraces life and all that it has to offer. She is a woman of faith.  Her faith has helped her to overcome many challenges in life. She strives daily to live life with purpose while making a positive and lasting impact in the lives of others.
